Close and reopen Microsoft Store, check the account shown under your profile, and retry the app. If several apps get stuck, check Windows Update and update Microsoft Store. If the Store still stalls, clear its cache with wsreset.exe and retry.
01Find out whether one app is affected
Section linkOpen the app’s listing and note any message or error code. If only one app is missing or its Install button is unavailable, check whether it supports your PC and is offered in your country or region. For an app you already own, verify that you are signed in with the account that obtained it. Family settings can also hide some apps.
02Finish updates and retry
Section linkIn Windows 11, go to Settings → Windows Update and check for updates. If Windows already asks for a restart, save your work and restart before retrying. In Microsoft Store, check for Store updates. Microsoft lists Library → Get updates. If your version has a Downloads page, look for the update button there.
03Clear the Microsoft Store cache
Section linkPress Windows + R, enter wsreset.exe, and select OK. A blank command window can appear briefly before the Store reopens. Wait for it to open, then try the download again. Use this step if reopening and updating the Store did not help.
04Repair the Store if several downloads still fail
Section linkOpen Settings → Apps → Installed apps. If Microsoft Store has an Advanced options entry, open it and choose Repair if available. Retry the download. If the issue remains, note the exact error and whether it affects multiple apps. On a managed PC, take that information to your administrator. For an issue with a single app, use the listing or the publisher’s support page.
