Wake the printer and confirm the exact model supports AirPrint. Connect your iPhone or iPad to the same local network as the printer, then reopen the print menu. If you are on guest Wi-Fi, switch to the regular network if you have access.
01Check the printer’s own connection
Section linkLook for the network name or a connected status on the printer’s control panel or network report. Compare it with Settings → Wi-Fi on the iPhone or iPad. A printer connected by Ethernet can also work when that cable leads to the same local network. If you just moved or replaced your router, check whether the printer is still set up for the old network.
02Try a print menu you know is available
Section linkOpen a photo in Photos and use Share → Print. Open the printer picker and wait for the list to populate. If the printer shows up there, try a single page before returning to your original app. If only the original app has no Print command, check that app’s sharing menu or help.
03If the printer still does not appear
Section linkRestart the printer and the iPhone or iPad. If another Apple device is available, try the same printer from it on the same network. If neither device sees the printer, check the exact model’s support page for an AirPrint setting and see whether your router or managed network isolates devices. HP documents both possibilities for its printers. If another device can see it, recheck the affected phone or tablet’s Wi-Fi connection first.
