Cancel through the company that bills you: Apple, Google Play, or the service itself. Uninstalling an app does not cancel its Google Play subscription. Check for a cancellation confirmation and an end date before assuming renewal has stopped.
01Find the billing company first
Section linkCheck the purchase receipt and the account named on it. Buying a subscription inside an app does not always mean the phone’s app store bills it. If the receipt names the service or a mobile carrier, use that provider’s cancellation process. This also explains why a subscription can be missing from Apple or Google Play even while the app works.
02iPhone: cancel an Apple-billed subscription
Section linkOpen Settings > your name > Subscriptions. Select the subscription and tap Cancel Subscription, scrolling if necessary. Follow any confirmation shown. If there is no Cancel button and the page shows an expiration message, Apple says it is already canceled. If it is missing, check which Apple Account is on the receipt; a subscription bought by a family member must be canceled from that member’s account.
03Android: cancel a Google Play subscription
Section linkOpen the subscription list in Google Play using the Google Account that made the purchase. Select the subscription, choose Cancel subscription, and complete the instructions. If the item is missing, switch to the account shown on the receipt. Removing the app or changing phones is not a substitute for this step.
04Confirm the result and check access separately
Section linkReopen the subscription details and record the cancellation status and displayed end date. Google Play generally lets you use time already paid for; a cancellation is not a refund request. Trial access and regional terms can differ, so read the message before confirming and cancel unwanted trials before renewal. If a later charge appears, compare the receipt, billing account, and renewal date with your saved confirmation, then contact the billing provider.
