Keep the entire code in frame, hold the phone steady, and move to avoid glare. If Camera still shows no link or prompt, open the Scan QR code tile in Quick Settings. On Pixel and Galaxy phones, this gives you a way to test the code separately from the Camera app’s QR setting.
01Check the Camera setting for your phone
Section linkOn Pixel, open Camera → Settings → More settings and turn on Camera scan suggestions. On Galaxy, open Camera settings and turn on Scan QR codes. Point the camera at the whole square and give it time to focus. If you moved so close that the pattern looks blurry, back away a little. On both phones, look for Scan QR code in Quick Settings and check the other tile pages if it is missing.
02Try a known working code
Section linkIf Quick Settings reads a code that Camera misses, recheck the Camera setting. If both scanners can read a different code, examine the original for glare, damage, or cropping. For a code displayed on another screen, try reducing reflections by tilting the screen. For a sign or handout, ask for a clearer copy or the address in text.
03A link appeared but the page will not load
Section linkThe scanner has read the code. Check that the address matches the organization you expect before opening it. If a trusted link opens to an error, try loading another known website to see whether the browser is online. If other sites load, ask the person who shared the code for a current link. For a code meant for an app, such as a device setup code, use the scanner in that app when the setup instructions call for it.
