Chrome address autofill not working? Check the saved address first

The short answer

In desktop Chrome, open Passwords and autofill and check Contact info or Addresses and more. Turn on saving and filling for that category and confirm your address is saved in the profile you use. If it fills on another site, enter the missing fields manually on the form that fails.

01Open the profile that has your address

Section link

Check the profile picture at the top right of Chrome. Switch to the profile you normally use for addresses. From the Chrome menu, open Passwords and autofill. Look for Contact info or Addresses and more, depending on the menu you see, and turn on the option to save and fill that information.

02Check what is saved

Section link

Open the address entry and check the street, city, and postal code. Add the address if the list is empty or edit the entry if it is out of date. If you expect an address saved on another device, confirm you are signed in to Chrome with the same Google Account and check that the entry is present.

03Try the address field before you submit

Section link

On a trusted site, click inside the street address field and look for your saved entry. Choose it and check what Chrome filled before you submit. If the address works on another trusted site, Chrome may have trouble recognizing fields on the first one. You can finish the form manually without clearing your saved data. If Chrome flags a site as insecure, avoid entering personal details there.
