On desktop Chrome, open More > Passwords and autofill > Google Password Manager > Settings. Check Offer to save passwords and passkeys. If the prompt is missing on a single site, check Declined sites and apps and remove that site if you want Chrome to offer again.
01Check which Chrome profile you are in
Section linkClick the profile button at the top of Chrome. Switch to the profile you use for that site before checking its passwords or settings. A password saved while signed out can be stored locally on that device. If you save to your Google Account, check that you are looking in the right account when you switch computers.
02Check the setting that controls the save prompt
Section linkIn Google Password Manager settings, turn on Offer to save passwords and passkeys if you want prompts for new credentials. If the setting is managed in a work or school profile, ask the administrator. Sign in to the affected site and select Save when offered.
03Undo Never for the site that stopped asking
Section linkIn the same settings, find Declined sites and apps. Remove the affected site if it appears there and you want to save a password for it. Sign in again and check for the prompt. Removing the site from the list allows the offer again. It does not recover a password you previously chose not to save.
04Look for an existing entry before testing again
Section linkSearch the password list in Google Password Manager for the site. If you already see the right username, try choosing that saved entry in the sign-in form. A saved entry and a missing save prompt can occur together. If the entry is missing on another device, check the account and profile before changing settings on either device.
