If the pointer returns when you move the mouse after typing, open Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Mouse → Additional mouse settings. On the Pointer Options tab, clear Hide pointer while typing and test the same app again.
01Make the pointer easier to locate
Section linkIn Pointer Options, enable Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key and confirm. Press Ctrl to see a circle around its position. If you often lose a working pointer against the background, open Settings → Accessibility → Mouse pointer and touch and increase its size or choose a more visible style.
02Check whether the mouse still moves it
Section linkTry the same movement on the desktop and in the app where the pointer vanishes. If you have enabled the Ctrl circle, move the mouse and check whether the circle appears at a new location. A pointer you can locate or move elsewhere gives you a reason to check the affected app or its display before replacing the mouse.
03If there is no movement anywhere
Section linkFor a wired USB mouse, reconnect it directly to another USB port. For a wireless mouse, check its charge or batteries and reseat its USB receiver if it has one. If a spare mouse works with the same PC, test the original on another compatible computer to narrow down whether the problem follows the device.
