Open Settings → General → AutoFill & Passwords, turn on AutoFill Passwords and Passkeys, and check that the app holding your login is enabled. Then tap the username field on the sign-in screen and look for the saved account above the keyboard.
01Check which app has the login
Section linkSearch for the site or account in Apple’s Passwords app or in the password manager you use. Enable that provider in AutoFill & Passwords. On iOS 17 or earlier, Apple puts the switch under Settings → Passwords → Password Options.
02Choose the account at sign-in
Section linkTap the username field on the genuine website or in the app. Select the suggestion if it matches. If it offers the wrong account, use the password button and choose Other Passwords when that option appears. Check the site and username before filling.
03Check sync if the password is missing
Section linkIf a login saved in Apple Passwords appears on another Apple device but is missing here, check the Apple Account and open Settings → your name → iCloud → Passwords. Make sure Sync this iPhone is on. Older versions may label the iCloud item Passwords and Keychain. For another password manager, check the signed-in account and its vault instead.
04Test a normal Safari tab
Section linkIf the issue is confined to a site, try its sign-in page in a regular Safari tab. Safari does not save new account names and passwords in Private Browsing. Some sites also prevent Safari from saving or filling credentials. If other sites still show suggestions, keep the provider settings and look for the affected site’s own sign-in options.
