The short answer

On a computer, click the arrow beside Slideshow in Google Slides. Choose Presenter view, then open Speaker notes. The regular slideshow shows your slides to the audience; look for the notes in the presenter window.

If the presenter window opens but the notes area is blank, return to the editor and select the same slide. Confirm that you entered notes on that slide. Open Presenter view again and move between a slide with notes and one without them to check that the panel follows the current slide.

02Find the presenter window before you share

If you see only the full-screen slideshow, exit it and start again from the arrow beside Slideshow. Check your open browser windows for the presenter controls. In a video call, choose the slideshow tab or window in the sharing picker and check its preview before you start. Keep the window containing the notes out of the share.

03Choose the display again if you reloaded

For Google Slides’ multi-display controls, use Chrome on a computer with an extra monitor attached. Open Presentation display options from the Slideshow dropdown and pick the display for the audience. If you reload the presentation, choose the display again. With a single monitor, Google Slides does not combine Presenter view and full-screen mode.
