Click Edit under the pivot table and check its source range. Changes inside that range update the pivot automatically. If you added rows below the end of the range, expand it to include them. If the new rows are already in range, check the pivot filters.
01Include the new rows in the source range
Section linkIn Google Sheets on a computer, click the pivot table and use the Edit button underneath it. In the editor, choose Select data range. For example, if the current range is A1:D20 and your last record is on row 21, extend the range to A1:D21. Keep the header row in the selection, with a header for each column. Check the source tab as well if your spreadsheet has similarly named tabs.
02Check whether a filter hides the new value
Section linkIn the pivot table editor, inspect Filters. A filter that uses a list of selected values may exclude a category you added later. For example, a pivot limited to Online and Store orders will omit the first Pickup order until you include Pickup. Review any condition filters as well. Keep any restrictions you still need for the report.
03Check which records make up a total
Section linkDouble-click a pivot result cell to open a new sheet showing its source rows. Look for the record you expected to be counted. If it is missing, recheck the range and filters. If the record is present but the total is different from what you expected, check the field under Values and how the pivot summarizes it. A count of orders answers a different question from a sum of their amounts.
