In Google Clock, open the affected alarm and choose a sound from Device Sounds. Press a volume button, open the expanded volume controls, and raise Alarm volume. If you use Do Not Disturb or Bedtime, make sure the mode allows alarms, then test an alarm while that mode is active.
01Check the affected alarm
Section linkOpen Clock > Alarm and check that the alarm is switched on and set for the right time and repeat day. Tap the alarm to open its options, tap the current sound, and pick a built-in tone from Device Sounds. This lets you test with a tone on the phone. Check vibration too if you expected to feel the alarm.
02Raise alarm volume and read the Clock warning
Section linkPress a volume button and tap the menu beside the slider to show all volume controls. Raise Alarm volume. The Media volume slider controls other sounds such as music and video. If Clock tells you why the alarm was silent, follow the message. For example, it may tell you to allow Clock notifications or to check whether Battery Saver interfered.
03Test with the mode you use overnight
Section linkIn Settings > Modes, open Do Not Disturb, Bedtime, or the mode that is active at the alarm time. Under Notification filters, check Alarms & other interruptions and allow alarms. Menu names can vary by Android version. Set a test alarm while that mode is on, away from other scheduled alarms, and listen for the tone. Delete the test alarm after checking it.
