Open Firefox Settings and look for Startup under General or Home and startup. Turn off Open previous windows and tabs. If your version offers an On startup choice, select the home page or blank page option instead. Quit Firefox normally, then launch it again to check.
01Tell a restored session from a home page
Section linkBefore quitting, open a page that isn’t one of your usual startup pages. If Firefox opens that page again on the next normal launch, recheck the startup setting. If it opens the same group of sites every time, check the home page setting as well. Firefox can be set to open several URLs as its home page.
02Remove unwanted sites from the home page
Section linkIn Settings, look under Home or Home and startup for Homepage and new windows or Homepage. If the home page uses custom URLs, remove the unwanted addresses or select Firefox Home or Blank page. If an unwanted page only opens from a particular desktop shortcut, check whether that shortcut includes a web address.
03Check whether Firefox restarted
Section linkFirefox can bring tabs back after an update, a crash or a restart in Troubleshoot Mode. Test after a normal quit so you can distinguish these cases from your regular startup setting. If Firefox shows a restore screen after a crash, choose Start New Session when that option appears and you want to start fresh.
