Shared Album invitation missing on iPhone? Check Photos and iCloud

The short answer

Turn on Shared Albums in your iPhone’s iCloud Photos settings. Look for the invitation in Photos under Collections or on iCloud.com. If you turned the feature on after the invitation was sent, ask the owner to send it again.

01Look in Photos before asking for a resend

Section link

Open Settings, tap your name, then open iCloud and Photos. Confirm Shared Albums is on. Open Photos, go to Collections and look for the invitation. You can also scroll to Shared Albums and open Activity. If the invitation appears in Notification Center, you can open and accept it there.

02Check the account and the address

Section link

On iCloud.com, sign in to the Apple Account you use for Photos and open Photos, then Shared Albums in the sidebar. If the invite is missing there too, ask the sender which address they used. Search that mailbox for the album name or sender. If you declined the invite earlier, ask the owner to resend it.

03Give the owner the right resend steps

On iOS 27, the owner can open the album under Photos, Collections, Shared Albums and use the Share button to send the album link again. On iOS 26, the owner can open the album, tap More and the album name, select your name, then tap Resend Invitation. If they previously removed you, they can add you back as a participant.

04Check compatibility if neither route works

Section link

Open Apple’s requirements link from its guide to accepting a Shared Album invite. Check whether your iPhone needs an update. If the invitation says the album is no longer shared, ask the owner whether the album still exists before asking them to send another invitation.
